From 24-28 September 2019 to Cape Town the 8th World Conference on Ecological Restoration was held,  jointly hosted by the Society for Ecological Restoration (SER) and the South African Water Research Commission. Researchers from across Africa are discussing issues related to planning, implementing, and monitoring successful restoration programs in all biomes and on all continents.
For the occasion, a session was created on Marine Ecosystem Restoration in Changing Oceans in which the MERCES project was presented. Many of our partners participated with their contribution and the project coordinator Prof. Roberto Danovaro introduced the project and moderated the session.
