On the occasion of the first international meeting of the AFRIMED project, a joint MERCES-AFRIMED workshop will be held in Rome at the WWF Italy Headquarter, from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm on 5th March. There were many contributions at the workshop MERCES-AFRIMED from the partners of the two projects, exciting and very productive.
AFRIMED is a new project funded by the European Union’s EMFF programme on the restoration of algal forests in the Mediterranean Sea, coordinated by the Polytechnic University of Marche. The AFRIMED consortium is a multi-disciplinary partnership with skills in marine ecology, spatial modeling, ecosystem restoration, socio-economics, knowledge transfer, dissemination and communication, from the multifaceted world of business (1 SME from 1 EU country), academia (5 partners from 3 EU countries, 1 partner from the Adriatic-Ionian Macro-regional Strategy and 2 partners from the Western Mediterranean Initiative), research (4 partners of which 2 from EU countries) and non-profit-making organization (1 partner from EU country).
