The "Anton Dohrn" Zoological Station (SZN) received from Miur the task of carrying out the Abbaco project - which is funded by Cipe through a Special Fund for Research (Fisr) - and to do so, he has decided to involve the most important Campania and Italian excellence in environmental research and the assessment of the risk: Federico II, Parthenope and Luigi Vanvitelli, the Higher Institute of Health, CNR, the National Institute of Geophysics and Vulcanology, the Aeneas and the Conisma. The Strategic Partner is the Marche Polytechnic University, which is already a leader in MERCES - of which Abbaco is part - a major European Marine Restructuring Program, involving 16 countries and 300 researchers. "The concept of restoration has always been applied to terrestrial environments, never to the sea," says Roberto Danovaro, chairman of SZN at Il Denaro. This is a real challenge because working at sea is much more difficult than doing it on the ground. "
